They say something about "their" need for icons, although they believe in the Grace of God. No person can save himself, only Jahweh can decide and only he understands the criteria according to their beliefs. Scientists, philosophers, artists and athletes do not serve as icons, because they are of this world. They conquered this world and they will miss the next one. So they will go around saying "We need icons", people will be repeating it and when they will "find" their icons, the icons will be only admired, since one cannot do anything to be like them. Their sayings are only prophecies, so an individual cannot do anything about them.
People of this World have icons, because than they can see how far human nature can go. Einstein had admitted that he had made a mistake as a student avoiding mathematic formalism, Mozart is an icon for his music and not his sense of humour. Ronaldo and Messi for their dribblings and not their lifestyle. Sparta is an icon for virtue, Athens for ingenuity.
