In memoriam Flavius Claudius Iulianus Augustus

On 26 June 363 christian chronology, Julian the Great, the Philosopher-Ruler was killed. Was it an assassination by one of his own soldiers? No soldier appeared before the Persian king to collect his price. The Romans were pursuing and he must have had guards around him.

Wiki
During the withdrawal, Julian's forces suffered several attacks from Sassanid forces.[75] In one such engagement on 26 June 363, the indecisive Battle of Samarra near Maranga, Julian was wounded when the Sassanid army raided his column. In the haste of pursuing the retreating enemy, Julian chose speed rather than caution, taking only his sword and leaving his coat of mail.[76] He received a wound from a spear that reportedly pierced the lower lobe of his liver, the peritoneum and intestines. The wound was not immediately deadly. Julian was treated by his personal physician, Oribasius of Pergamum, who seems to have made every attempt to treat the wound. This probably included the irrigation of the wound with a dark wine, and a procedure known as gastrorrhaphy, the suturing of the damaged intestine. On the third day a major hemorrhage occurred and the emperor died during the night.[77][78] As Julian wished, his body was buried outside Tarsus, though it was later removed to Constantinople.[79]

In 364, Libanius stated that Julian was assassinated by a Christian who was one of his own soldiers;[80] this charge is not corroborated by Ammianus Marcellinus or other contemporary historians. John Malalas reports that the supposed assassination was commanded by Basil of Caesarea.[81] Fourteen years later, Libanius said that Julian was killed by a Saracen (Lakhmid) and this may have been confirmed by Julian's doctor Oribasius who, having examined the wound, said that it was from a spear used by a group of Lakhmid auxiliaries in Persian service.[82] Later Christian historians propagated the tradition that Julian was killed by Saint Mercurius.[83] Julian was succeeded by the short-lived Emperor Jovian who reestablished Christianity's privileged position throughout the Empire.

Libanius says in his epitaph of the deceased emperor (18.304) that "I have mentioned representations (of Julian); many cities have set him beside the images of the gods and honour him as they do the gods. Already a blessing has been besought of him in prayer, and it was not in vain. To such an extent has he literally ascended to the gods and received a share of their power from him themselves." However, no similar action was taken by the Roman central government, which would be more and more dominated by Christians in the ensuing decades.

Considered apocryphal is the report that his dying words were νενίκηκάς με, Γαλιλαῖε, or Vicisti, Galilaee ("You have won, Galilean"),[84] supposedly expressing his recognition that, with his death, Christianity would become the Empire's state religion. The phrase introduces the 1866 poem Hymn to Proserpine, which was Algernon Charles Swinburne's elaboration of what a philosophic pagan might have felt at the triumph of Christianity. It also ends the Polish Romantic play The Undivine comedy written in 1833 by Zygmunt Krasiński.

Now any concurrence with Christian celebrations?

On 2nd of July the Hellenic Ethnic Religion will service Dioskuri, Castor and Polydeuces, and commemorate the Battle of Thermopylae. By the celebration of the Summer Sostice the Greek Christian Church announced it felt provoked as it was celebrated the same day and many laymen or maybe priests and monks with false profiles, wrote at this facebook profile curses. Now there is no concurrence between this celebration and a Christian one and they still come and curse.
The Greek State claims the name 'Hellenic', but doesn't commemorate Thermopylae, Salamis or Plataea. Last year the right populist Minister of Defence took the initiative and went to the island of Salamis with priests to do Christian memorial service, as if the combatatants were Christian Orthodox.
They don't like it because the Persian kings were friends with the old Chuch as they call it, meaning Israel, or they don't like the combination with a service to Hellenic gods, because it makes it impossible for nazis and byzantophiles and the right-wing parties to look for voters.
However they could use arguments to express their views, but they do not do it. Only hate, hysteria and delirium.

Skulls in shelves

Two ex-members of the parliament was written that they dropped by a church and lit a candle. There are some real human skulls in the shelves in the corner behind, if you press here you will see them clearly. The candles and the oil lamb behind are usually in churches, but some people said that it is actually a museum of the Distomo Massacre. The Christians do have the habit of exhibiting corpses as part of their saint cult, but why is this done with the skulls of the executed?
Who would consent to having his relics being exposed like this?

The funny thing is one cannot ask a Christian. Because they insult everybody else, they think that one way or the other, everyone wants to insult them. And then they act like spoiled two-year-olds.

By the way what about Ramadan, Greek Christians?

Ramadan: Monday, 6. June 2016 until Monday, 4. Juli 2016

By Hellenic Ethnic Worshipers the Greek Christian Church felt provoked. What about Ramadan? Not a word. Is it because they are actually the same religion or they are just cowards?

Provoked to do what Greek Christian Church?

Earlier this month the Greek Church said it was provoking that the Hellenic Ethnic Religion celebrated the same day as the Christians celebrated their type of Pentecost. Of course this is a totalitarian way of thinking, which shows clearly that it isn't Christianity that has changed its nature, but Enlightment is what made our European societies worthy to live in.
In an outburst of arrogance and pure hatred, the Church repeated its opinion of provocation and it is made clear that the fact that the Summer Solstice happened the next day of the celebration isn't interesting to her. Heathens are not allowed to exist, according to the Christian Church.
More provoking was the fact that there was a marriage ceremony as well. Until recently it was their monopoly.
The word "Hellenic" was a curse word for centuries and until the beginning of the last century, the Church tried to convince rural people that the Hellenes were something like Cyclops but with both their eyes on and they were extinct by giant mosquitos with brass teeth.
Now the Church says that all Hellenes of that time, with no exception, converted to Christianity at the beginning of the first century of the Christian Calendar. So they gave as a unit their identity voluntarily up, to become New Israelis. What about those who don't believe in Jesus Christ? They have no right to exist. They have no right to claim their Hellenicity.
Although the Greek State was obliged by the EU to grant the right of religious freedom, the greek courts violate the laws under the most ridiculous pretexts. It is known that judges are usually feckless people obeying their confessors.

Islamists attack Radiohead fans in Turkey!

Yes, the attacked and beaten up ones, were most probably Muslims too!

Source

British rock group Radiohead on Saturday condemned “violent intolerance” after Islamists brutally attacked customers at an Istanbul record store attending an album release party, angered that the event coincided with Ramzan.

A group of about 20 men accosted and beat up customers and employees at the Velvet IndieGround music store in the city’s hip Tophane district on Friday night for drinking alcohol while listening to music during the Muslim holy month.

They trashed the store, hurled insults and broke up the release party of the album “A Moon Shaped Pool”.

At least two people were injured, witnesses told Turkey’s Dogan news agency. Police have started an investigation into the violence.

Images filmed during the altercation and widely circulating on social media show the attackers hurling barstools and wrecking the store.

One person was seen bleeding with head injuries after being hit with a bottle.

One of the attackers is seen shouting: “We will kill you, you bastards!”

Rayka Simoni, who was outside the store, told Dogan that the Radiohead fans were “quitely listening to music while sipping beer” when they were attacked.

“Twenty people started throwing bottles at them. One of them kicked my friend for telling them it wasn’t right to hit women,” she said.

Radiohead said in a message: “Our hearts go out to those attacked.

“We hope that some day we will be able to look back on such acts of violent intolerance as things of the ancient past. For now, we can only offer our fans in Istanbul our love and support.”

The Hurriyet newspaper said the music store’s owner was a South Korean national who had been living in Turkey for many years. It said many South Koreans were inside at the time of the attack.

A protest will be held outside the store later Saturday.

Similar attacks have targeted art galleries in the area in the past. Critics claim Turkey’s current Islamic-rooted government is undermining the country’s secular tradition.

What about your Folk Orthodox Christian Tradition, now?

Marxists, Anarchists and Nazis in Greece talk about the Faith of the Greeks or the Greek Folk, that must be respected, so the priests and the bishops and the whole Church must be respected, but what they really mean is revered. So even though we don't believe in Christianity, we should do as if, or try our best to and feel guilty if don't succeed.
So we have a double example of how important are customs to the priests and bishops.
At the wedding at a certain point the bestman has to clap the groom's back or shoulder.
In Cyprus the bestman did it and the priest performing the ceremony threw the book and really boxed the bestman, hitting him repeatedly in the face, till his lips bled.
The bishop said that the priest did well. The priest is a very good one, he had already warned the people twice and the custom is a degrading one. So after one or two warnings, a priest has to knock down the 'troublemaker'.
The bishop said clearly he had ordered the priests to stop immediately the ceremony, if the laymen performed their customs.
The bishop-boxer manager said that the whole thing was exaggerated by the media, how he knows he doesn't say. For him only the priest's testimony is of value, the laymen are most probably stupid and liars in his opinion.
The boxer-priest said that the couple was half an hour late and he had told them he had to leave for another ceremony to another church. The friends of the groom were too gay and that is humiliating for the wedding and the people were warned twice. Customs are also humiliating ceremonies, so one had to be punched down.
Well done priest. If they keep coming use the scourge as well and hit the old ones especially, because they insist the ceremonies should be religious.

USA wishes Brexit

I have witnessed that the most rude and arrogant comments in social media in favour of Brexit and against EU, come from people who work in America. Well politicians cannot admit that it is either Britain under USA against Europe, or Britain with Europe competing against the World. Well, Farage said something about NATO, although he is not very happy about it. Does he think with a Brexit he will become happier?

The gangster and the conduit

It is a typical example of the worthy and the mediocre. A Salieri and a Mozart. Nikolaos Georgalis or Nick Galis as his name was transformed in the USA, was the player who made Greece a winner team in basketball. At a time when no one could beat the Soviet Union or Yugoslavia, Spain and Italy could spent a lot of money on their teams and there was no Bosman ruling so one had to invest on ones native players and other countries gave their citizenship to average NBA players.
He was talented and not only did he take his training sessions with the team seriously, but he trained extra time with a personal trainer, to improve his physical abilities.
In 1987 the European Basketball Championship was held in Greece. Greece won consecutively Italy, Yugoslavia and the Soviet Union in the knockout stage and won the gold medal. Galis scored 30.5 points average when he played for the national team of Greece. He was placed by another three players who were great, but of a level that had been reached by other Greek players as well; no one combined talent and diligence like Galis did. Those four played most of the time and there were others who would play some minutes with all their heart. Two years after in Yugoslavia Greece won silver, because the host was overpowering and Greece had played an exhausting semifinal against the Soviet Union.
With his team Aris he never made it to the final of a European Championship as his team would lose in the semifinals.
From that moment every kid played basketball, schoolyards were full of hoops. Every tall man saw his future in becoming a profesional player. They were also more professional, because they saw it paid off.
George Basilakopoulos was already 48 years old when the first gold medal was won. A very mediocre player, no one would remember him, if he wasn't member of the Greek and the European basketball federations afterwards. He was nicknamed the Conduit, because of his stature. He became a member of the Hellenic Basketball Federation when it was founded, went into politics, was picked up by the worst populist ever in Greek history.
This politician was the biggest accident in modern Greek history. He gained power in the most favourable year for populists. He gain power in 1981, the year Greece became a member of the European Economic Community. Greece became a lot of money for economic growth and they were spread very unproductively, to say the least. That populist needed loyal people to rely on, so he had to find people who depended on him and not on their knowledge and virtues. One politician called Katsifaras had said that if it weren't for Andreas Papandreou, they wouldn't be known to their own janitor.
One of these people was Mr. Basilakopoulos, as he became positions such as Secretary-General of Sports and network himself further.
However it was not enough for Mr. Basilakopoulos that he earned a lot of money without being competent in something, he was also ambitious. He wanted to be the man who made Greece a basketball power. So the man who really achieved this had to be put aside.
Galis is downplayed to the same level as Panagiotis Giannakis, also a club teammate. Giannakis is taller, emphasises his training on strength, so he is a good defender and a three point shooter. The media, part of the political system as the owners do business with the state, always emphasised on his passionate way of playing. Georgios Basilakopoulos was the first coach of Panagiotis Giannakis, he knows him since his adolescence.
George Basilakopoulos always stressed, that Galis was important, but not the only one, there were others as well. Even the childish nicknames of the player chosen by the media were carefully chosen. There were the four musketers, so they were all one level and the childish nicknames, maybe first appeared, when Greek commentators jabbered, but were picked up, because they suited the cause. The gangster, the dragon, the baby(face) and the spider. Galis was the gangster, a nickname that implications of being a mercenary and coldblooded.
20 years ago, a deputy minister of Sports had the idea to name the Central Stadium of Athens after Galis and Basilakopoulos blocked the decision as they were both members of the ruling party. He justified his opposition under the pretext that people shouldn't be honoured such a honour while they are still alive. However he had no problem when the authorities of his home town named the local stadium after him, while he is still alive.
Now the idea has come up again. No one had a problem, but him. It was written in the internet, that he didn't express his discontent very elegantly. He urged his deputies in the Federation to phone the people in the Ministry to block the decision. He then remembered that a Hall in Thessaloniki was named after Nick Galis. Not a whole stadium, just the main hall. It has been proved that his morals are just a pretext, because he doesn't apply those to himself.
He has an ally to this issue. A basketball club named Panathinaikos. Basilakopoulos was a player of that team. The club where Galis played his last two seasons and was out to play a third. This club was and is still owned by a family of pharmacists, who sold their goods to the state and not very cheaply. The year his teammate from Aris Thessaloniki Panagiotis Giannakis came to Panathinaikos as well, he was told that he would play for short periods only, although the last season he played splendidly. There and then he stopped playing basketball.
The family ruling Panathinaikos BC said that if they want to call a stadium after Galis, than they should name the stadium of Peiraius where the European Championship of 1987 took place. Or naming a hall after Galis should be enough, now other people should have stadiums named after them. Panathinaikos BC plays at the stadium, which is to be named after Galis.
Panathinaikos with his ex-athlete Basilakopoulos try to present a player called Dimitris Diamantidis as equal to Galis, when not better. This shows how sure they feel themselves in manipulating the public opinion. Diamantidis is a type of player like Giannakis not Galis. He was always placed by high class players, he played at a time when Greek teams were respected, and as player of Panathinaikos he had the full support of the media.
Later another member of the clique uttered his disagreement with the nomination. It was the head coach of the 1987 triumph and then head coach of Panathinaikos, who humbled Galis and urged him to withdraw in disgrace, Kostas Politis. He said that basketball is a team sport and the deputy minister should learn that there is not only the player that scores, but the others as well who do various things.  Well he must mean the other players, because all athletes have trainers and support. By the way this head coach is also an ex-player of Panathinaikos. He won some trophies before basketball became popular and after winning the European Championship, he didn't do anything spectacular, even with good players. He is not remembered for any special tactics, except the 'laissez-faire' one. There has never been a Politis-team like the hated Malkovic-team or the adored Obradovic teams by Panathinaikos fans.
Politis probably thinks it wrong when people like Pele, Maradona, Cruyff, Zidane are honoured, because they as well had teammates.
All these because some people can not take the fact that they don't have any special talents. One cannot do anything about these things, but one can always try to leave with decency.

How do you like that with Hagia Sophia?

Well, Hagia Sophia was the price for remaining Orthodox. The choice was either Greek Catholic and Hagia Sophia or Greek Orthodox without. Now the building belongs to the Turks. Kemal made it a museum for his reasons, Erdogan wants to make it a mosque again.

Open Letter 314/8.06."2016"
To Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Ioannis Amanatides.

Mr. Minister.

The zealous involvement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs into a matter regarding a monument (Hagia Sophia), which belongs to another country (Turkey) astonished every clearly thinking Greek citizen. We Ethnic Hellenes are even more astonished from your statement that the reading of a monotheistic religious text in a space that up until 1934 functioned as a monotheistic temple, and only afterwards designated as a cultural monument, is «not in accordance with European norms and rules of respect and tolerance for diversity and religious freedom.” The same is true of your statement that you will “take the case to international organizations».

Because our country (in addition to a foreign) has also a domestic audience, and because your zealotry unfortunately invites opposing views from a wide political spectrum, allow us to explain the reasons of our manifold astonishment.

In the Greece of 2016 of Christian reckoning, the state you represent which supposedly cares for «European norms and rules of respect and tolerance for diversity and religious freedom,» has continuously evaded the recognition of the organization representing the indigenous and historically continuous Hellenic Ethnic Religion —something it ought to have done already, according to its own laws. To make things worse, since the Hellenic Ethnic Religion is forced to function as a not- for-profit organization, it is obligated to pay exorbitant annual «franchise taxes».

In the Greece of 2016 of Christian reckoning, this same state allows the various organizations and representatives of the Christian orthodox faith, which it characterizes as the «dominant faith», to systematically defile our own (Hellenic Ethnic) sacred sites, by building miniature churches on them or performing their own rites, which are not only insignificant but also hostile to their original religious orientation. The Rotunda in Thessaloniki, Dion in Macedonia, and the Areios Pagos (Aeropagus) of Athens are only three of our numerous sacred sites which the «dominant faith» defiles in a way that is contrary to the “European norms and rules of respect and tolerance for diversity and religious freedom”.

So when you finally make your case to those «international organizations» for the unseemly actions of your co-religionists (fellow monotheists) of Turkey, please inform us of the procedures so that we can also make our case for the continuous, unseemly actions of the dominant faith of the Greek state, against the Hellenic Ethnic Religion, our Religion, whose ancient and ruined sacred sites are systematically being defiled, while all of you still pretend that such a religion does not even exist.

Sincerely,

Supreme Council of Ethnic Hellenes (YSEE)

The Greek Church just polarises for a few attendants more

The Greek Church announced that it is a provocation from  the followers of the Hellenic Ethnic Religion to celebrate the Summer Solstice the same day when Christians celebrate one of their festivals. Summer Solstice is on Monday the 20th of June 2016 CE and the followers of the Hellenic Ethnic Religion want to celebrate it a day before, on the 19th of June. As Hellenic festivals aren't holidays, all festivals are celebrated on Sundays.
If one isn't a Christian, one doesn't know their festivals, unless they are holidays. Not their business, the one or the other way. However, the Greek Church wants to present it as a mere provocation.
Now, all fanatics visit the facebook page of these  people and swear like 5 year old infants.
Similar actions show that the Church is loosing followers, like everywhere in Europe, and they try to attract people by polarising. To make some lazy Christians go to Church.

By the way here is an interesting parallel.

The Talmud refers to Shavuot as Atzeret (Hebrew: עצרת, literally, "refraining" or "holding back"), referring to the prohibition against work on this holiday and to the conclusion of the holiday and season of Passover. Since Shavuot occurs 49 days after the first day of Passover (i.e. the 50th day, including Passover itself), Hellenistic Jews gave it the name Pentecost (πεντηκοστή, "fiftieth day").

According to Jewish tradition, Pentecost commemorates God's giving of the Ten Commandments at Mount Sinai, 49 days after the Exodus. The Talmud derives this from a calculation based on Biblical texts.
