In the outskirts of Heraklion of Crete, vandals desecrate secluded chapels by smearing feces on icons and by writing slogans. However no money or oblations are stolen. In one of those chapels was written that the feces were a treat by ...Zeus. So the geniuses of the local police think that everything is done by Hellenic Heathens. So wrote a conservative online Greek newspaper and an English online Christian newpaper willingly adopted the claim. The Christian article is telling that whenever followers in Heraklion of the Hellenic Ethnic Religion get mad at the Church, they have a good meal first and then visit a secluded chapel to show how good their digestion functions. This is a sign of violence according to the Baptist journalist. Some people who cannot control their temper will not kick a stone or a can or just utter a curse. The question is why doesn't this happen in Athens where most Hellenes live, or other cities. To begin with, no real Heathen actually uses the name of the God Zeus alone. It is the Christians who do not want to call us Hellenes and use phrases like "... they believe in Zeus", or " ...they are of Zeus".
Of course it is a tortured soul that behaves that way and not a disgusted or angry person. They know it, but it is a good opportunity for antiheathen propaganda.
